Breitling replica watches as a brand is perhaps best known for their big, masculine chronographs in aviation and diving styles, and no watch exemplifies manliness quite like the Super Avenger. At 48mm, this is one of Breitling’s larger timepieces, eclipsed only by the Emergency. Limited editions of the Super Avenger have been made previously, such as the military 24-hour version. However, this is the first time this watch has received the boutique edition treatment and the addition of the brand’s first in-house manufacture chronograph caliber, the Breitling 01. The result is the aptly named Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition.

The dial of the new Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition is in the brand’s signature “Volcano Black” with contrasting red highlights on the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, the “Edition Limitee” text above the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and the highly visible central second hand. Running seconds can be found at 9 o’clock, and a date indicator has been wedged in at 4:30. The hour and minute hands are large and lumed, as are the hour indices and inverted triangle design at 12 o’clock, which should provide good legibility at night and while diving.

The copy Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition is fitted with a ratcheted uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel with a luminous pip at 12 o’clock and engraved 5-minute indicators to track elapsed time. The crown is screw-locked and designed for easy gripping with a grooved pattern, and the chronograph pushers are set into crenellated fittings evocative of the walls of a castle. Crown guards ensure that the crown is protected in the event of knocks or impacts to the side of the case.

Within the Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition beats the manufacture Breitling 01 caliber, a first for the Avenger collection of watches. This is a COSC Chronometer-certified self-winding mechanical movement featuring a column wheel chronograph with vertical clutch. It oscillates at the very modern frequency of 28,800vph, or 4Hz, which enables chronograph accuracy to within 1/4th of a second. The movement features 47 jewels and offers a power reserve of 70 hours, as well as an instant date change mechanism.

The Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition features a solid caseback with a vintage-looking pin-up logo and “Special delivery” inscription in red. The watch is water-resistant to 300m, or 1,000ft, and is fitted with Breitling’s signature Professional bracelet. Although this Boutique Edition hasn’t changed anything too drastically from the design of the original Super Avenger, it represents a cost effective way to obtain a manufacture Breitling chronograph in an ultra-masculine case with some added exclusivity. This is a 100-piece special limited edition Breitling fake watches available exclusively from Breitling boutiques, and is priced at $7,800.

Breitling Super Avenger 01 is the first watch released by the brand after the major change from July. We were the first to confirm, directly from Mr George Kern, that he was taking the position of CEO for Breitling. The move was and still is viewed with good eyes by the brand’s enthusiasts and market specialists. The first result we see is the release of the Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition, a limited edition dedicated to the brand’s boutiques. We make today a short introduction of the Super Avenger 01, based on the press release.

Breitling have had a good year. At Baselworld we saw the mighty Breitling Navitimer Rattrapante and then we reviewed the impressive and affordable Breitling Colt Skyracer. Both watches present excellent specifications and come with a good value for the money.

Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition is a good-looking chronograph promising the same good ratio of price and quality. The polished Breitling case in steel has a relatively big diameter of 48mm and a water resistance of 300m. The Super Avenger 01 has the aesthetics of a serious diving watch. The brushed bezel has the markings and numerals engraved and a large luminescent dot as the 60  minutes index. As a typical diver, the bezel is a unidirectional ratcheted system. The sturdy design is doubled by screwed-down push-piece guards and solid screw-locked crown with non-slip grip. The pushers and the crown have a nice design that contributes to the watch’s though look. The case’s appearance gives a solid feeling, inspiring trust for any kind of activities. The Super Avenger 01 has the case-back engraved with nice vintage-styled pin-up art and features a red inscription with “Special Delivery”. The watch is available with several choices for straps: steel bracelet, high-resistance military textile fibre, rubber or leather.

The dial is a standard chronograph layout with central time, small seconds at 9 o’clock, 30 minutes totalizer at 3 o’clock, 12 hours totalizer at 6 o’clock and a well-contoured date window at 4:30 o’clock. The black dial is adorned with large luminescent hour-markers and hands. The dial is decorated with “Edition limitée” inscription in red. The dial legibility promises to be excellent in any light condition.

Breitling Super Avenger 01 replica watches are powered by the in-house Caliber 01. Released in 2009, the movement was a result of Breitling’s investment in the development of a new chronograph in 2004, when they feared that the supply of ETA Ebauche movements would disappear. The B01 stands out with a column wheel construction and a vertical clutch. The 4Hz chronograph has COSC certification and an impressive 70 hours power reserve from a single barrel. The movement is nicely decorated with Côtes de Genève, perlage (circular graining), diamond polished bevels and snailing for the ratcheting wheels. Unfortunately, the view of the movement is reserved only to the watchmakers, since the case has a solid case-back.
